Software Product Manager
Position Summary
Visonex is looking for an experienced software product manager or a systems analyst who is interested in becoming a software product manager.
The Software Product Manager will coordinate the creation of software products from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on industry experience and contact with customers and prospects. Responsibilities also will include increasing the profitability of existing products. In addition, this individual must be able to communicate with all areas of the company.
The right candidate will possess business and technical savvy, big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
Responsibilities
- Managing the assigned software product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
- Specifying requirements for current and future product features by conducting market research.
- Developing and implementing a go-to-market plan and working with all departments to execute.
- Supporting the development of technical support literature, sales training materials, tools, and marketing collateral.
- Enforcing corporate product standards for all products as related to user interface, product styles, and graphical standards by participating in product reviews during the development process.
- Providing sales support as a product line subject matter expert.
Requirements
- A degree in the field of Information Technology or 3-5 years relevant work experience as an IT Systems Analyst or Software Product Manager.
- Experience with SQL Server 2005/2008 and T-SQL.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and stand up presentation skills are required.
- Ability to Travel (20%).
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Virtual Machines.
- Familiarity with Health Level Seven (HL7).
- Experience with Medical Claims Processing.
- Experience with serial and TCP/IP communications.
- Experience in Web, JavaScript, and ASP.NET programming.
- Experience with Visual Studio Team Foundation System.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
Communication Skills
- Ability to present technical plans and documentation to senior leadership.
- Ability to create business and functional requirements documents.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, large, and small group situations to clients, prospective clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to apply common mathematical problem solving to real world business situations.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for up to eight hours, and stand for up to 3 hours. Manual dexterity which allows the individual to use hands to type on a keyboard, use a mouse and write are required, as is the ability to talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
